Which set does it work with?
The PK36-M8 1760 belt is for roller mills that use the PK36 - M8 break and smooth triple sets. “PK36” in the code gives the profile and rib count, and “1760” the belt length in millimetres. Together with the set’s pulleys, the belt forms the mill’s roll drive.
How to read belt length
On ribbed belts the length is the effective length and is printed on the belt back. Measuring the outside of the belt with a tape can mislead, because the measuring line depends on the belt section. When replacing, the most reliable way is to read the code on the old belt or determine the length from the mill model.
Signs it is time to replace
- Transverse cracks and chunks missing from the ribs,
- Wear on the belt back or edges,
- Take-up at the end of its travel,
- Slipping noise at start-up and fluctuating roll speed.
Fitting points
- Isolate the mill and release the tensioner.
- Clean the pulley grooves and check them for wear.
- Fit the belt fully seated in the grooves, without forcing it.
- Set the tension and check it again after a few hours.
A new belt on worn pulleys soon slips, so belt changes should go hand in hand with a pulley check.
Supply
We supply the belt on its own or with the PK36 - M8 set. Your mill model is all we need to send the right belt.
