How it differs from a single drop cleaner
The double drop sieve cleaner is a stronger version of the drop-type cleaner: the nubs are not on one face but on both faces. Even if the cleaner flips over in the compartment, a nubbed face always faces the cloth. Cleaning becomes continuous and the number of contact points increases.
When to choose a double drop cleaner
- On sieves with high product load that run full all the time,
- On passages prone to blinding because of moist or fatty product,
- In compartments where single-sided cleaners have been seen to flip over and stop working.
Especially on break passages handling moist product after tempering, sieve openings blind more easily; a double drop cleaner can make a difference there.
Points to watch
Stronger cleaning means more impact on the cloth. Using a cleaner stronger than necessary on very fine, delicate cloths can wear them early. It is best used where the cloth aperture and product require it.
Maintenance
When a sieve is opened, check the cleaners: if the nubs are worn, the body cracked or pieces broken, replace all the cleaners in the compartment together. Make sure the cleaner moves freely in the compartment and does not jam.
